Christmas 2010

This year was a very special time for our family for two extremely big reasons! 1.) Kylie Joy Flora was able to celebrate her very first Christmas with the entire family. 2.) Josh was able to fly up from Florida to spend some time with us so we were able to get some family pics with the ENTIRE family present! That hasn't happened for 6 YEARS!!! We had a wonderful time with family and lots of food, and of course...we passed Kylie around so that everyone could hold her :)

Here she is right after Jake fed her. Doesn't she look content?

The proud parents of two very special girls.

Jake got this funny pic of me because I didn't know he knew how to run my camera so I wasn't really prepared for the flash to go off. Lol.

Here, we have a very "Outrageous" game of "Rage" going on.

Some big brother time for Kayla. She hasn't been able to do that in awhile.

James was able to come over on Sunday to play games with us. Hopfully there wasn't any cheating...ahem...discussing going on between those two. Lol

More "Rage".

Aunt Krista holding Kylie.

Sunday night, we were able to get this amazing four generation picture. Isn't that cool?

The first cousin shot since before Josh and Jake left for boot-camp.

The ENTIRE Flora family.

Now this is the ENTIRE "Chambers" family with the grandparents at the center and the daughters and their families on either side.

Ft Scott- candlelight tour

This past Friday, we had the opportunity to travel up to Fort Scott, KS to attend their annual candlelight tour. The Lingg family was able to join us and we carpooled up to a mutual friend's house, Ron Puterbaugh who is the police chief of the Fort. All the 'young people' went downstairs to take advantage of the ping pong table, Foosball table and snacks.

I'm not sure what the name of this game is, but basically, it's 4-square on a ping pong table and instead of hitting the ball, you have to blow it without letting it touch your face.

Justin, David, Krista, and James

Later, some of the 'older folks' came down and joined us for an invigorating game of 'Taboo'.

Before the tour, we went to Pizza Hut for supper.

Angela, Abby and Anna

And we'll end with a picture of 'the couple'. :-)

Anna sat 2nd this year in Youth. They played Jupiter- Holst and Brahm's Symphony No. 1 in C Minor, Op. 68 (the Adagio; Allegro non troppo, ma con brio)

Amyann's baby shower!!

This past Saturday, we threw a baby shower for Amyann (my sister-in-law). It was a fun time of games and fellowship. The first game we played was one you're all probably quite familiar with. It involved guessing what was written on the piece of paper pinned to your back by asking 'yes' or 'no' questions. To narrow it down, it was all under one category...baby things. :-)

Chloe and Charity asking each other questions.

Ruthie sure enjoyed all the attention!!

The next game we played required paper plates, markers, and a good imagination. ;-) You had to draw a baby on a paper plate on top of your head. No peeking!!!

OOPS!!! I think Kayla got a little off!!

Not bad, Chloe!! Considering you can't see what you're doing......

Kayla, Chloe, Aunt Michelle, and Grandma Chambers laughing at some of the results of the 'baby drawing' contest.

The 'present' table

Sara made an adorable little 'diaper cake' for the occasion!!! It was SO adorable!!

Isn't that the cutest!?

Diapers, diapers, and more diapers.
While Amyann was opening presents, the rest of us played Bingo!! On a piece of paper, in the form of bingo, were all the gifts Amyann was receiving. Whenever she opened one, we got to mark it off on our sheet and whoever got 5 in a row won!!

Afterwards, we served refreshments.

Chocolate Mint Brownies
Thanks Sara for all the hard work you put into planning this shower!!

Exploration Place

This past weekend we went to the Exploration Place. It had been such a long time since visiting there, Justin and Joey didn't remember it. It was also national museum day, so we were able to get in free. It was fun to do all of the puzzles and activities, some of which completely stumped us.
Justin and Joey rode a combine that had a video inside that showed them what they were harvesting while they drove.

There was a room called "Miniature Kansas". It was so cute to see the tiny cars, houses, animals, and trains. Joey and Justin especially enjoyed it, because they had never seen anything like it before.

Then came all of the puzzles. This one completely stumped us...you had to somehow balance all the nails on top of a single one that was stuck upright in a brick. All eighteen of them.

A puzzle game that Krista and Anna had fun with.

Joey enjoyed making different things with the shapes.

Justin and Joey ended the day with a HUGE game of chess:)

Air Show

This Sunday we went with the Boehem Family to the air show at McConnell Air force Base. The Thunder birds were there to put on a show for us and they were awesome. It was very loud, but well worth it. They were so fast, but they were able to keep in formation perfectly. Thank you Boehem family for enjoying the outing with us.

Click on the pictures to get a better look!

This one was so cool. The two Thunder birds flew right in front of us at an amazing speed. One was flying right above the other who was flying upside down. They stayed perfectly together the whole time. If you want to see some more pics you can go to Sara's Blog.
